The pharmacist is responsible in ensuring the proper storage, distribution and consumption of drugs at all IMC sites. S/he is responsible in ensuring that there will be no stock outs of medicines and medical supplies in all health facilities in his/her area of operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Medical Coordinator and Logistic department to facilitate timely drug procurement based on the site need and national policy.
- Ensure timely distribution of drugs based on the site need.
- Review and develop drug supply requests.
- Support liaison officer in dealing with administrative procedures related with drug supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs and medical equipment in each site as per the WHO and national guideline
- Conduct regular monitoring of drugs inventory in collaboration with the Medical Warehouse Officer to ensure that there will be no stock outs every month
- Ensure rational drug use in each site in coordination with the Medical Coordinator.
- Monitor the proper consumption of medicines and medical commodities in each health facility.
- Monitor the drug consumption versus the morbidity every 2 months
- Maintain and follow use of country drug and nutrition supply list.
- Ensure the expiry date of each drug is closely monitored in each site, and plan with the Medical Coordinator and Medical Warehouse Officer, actions to be taken to ensure that drugs do not expire in the warehouse.
- Able to prepare long and short-term planning and predict drug stock out timely and request ahead of time.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual report to the Medical Director.
- Coach and mentor medical warehouse officers and other staff on proper handling of medicines and medical commodities.
- Be able to do other activities assigned to him/her by the Medical Director.
General
- Deployed personnel are expected to assist with the setup, maintenance and demobilization of the clinical spaces and base camp as required.

- Actively promote PSEA (prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and among beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law at all times.
- Ensure and uphold International Medical Corps policy of equal treatment and non-discrimination on the basis of race, gender, age, religion, sexuality, culture or disability.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Registered Pharmacist in Sudan with at least 1 – 3 year of experience
- Familiar with the National Drug Formulary of Sudan
- Preferably with experience working as Pharmacist among IDPs in complex emergency situationsTeam player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Compassionate, approachable, respectful, responsible and trustworthy
- Preferably with strong understanding, experience and application of public health principles, holistic approaches and practices.
- Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and NGOs.
- Profound cross-cultural awareness and insight into health care issues in resource-limited settings.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently following consultative processes
- Dynamic with the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
- Ability to relate to and motivate local staff/partners effectively
- Good working knowledge of various computer packages especially MS Word and Excel. Innovation and the ability to work with limited resources.
