The M&E Officer will provide support to International Medical Corp’s (IMC), site office, focusing on all aspects of health and nutrition data capture, storage, and analysis with full technical management to ensure effective /quality reporting and communication.]

  • Responsible for adopting and maintenance of health and nutrition data collection tools, accurate health and nutrition data collection, compilation, analysis and storage, reporting, and communication.
  • To conduct regular and frequent field visits using relevant supervision tools and provide technical support to the IMC field staff, HFs (Health Facilities), and local partner organizations on quality data collection, storage, and reporting.
  • To liaise and communicate with site management to maintain and improve the filing system for all IMC projects.

[Responsibilities:

  •  Maintain and make available to field sites all data collection tools/formats and ensure that all project sites utilize uniform forms for data collection in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure that timely and complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and other health reports are submitted by the HFs (weekly basis), or any delegated field staff to the Site office and then to the Khartoum office on monthly basis.
  • Conduct regular and frequent field visits to the targeted clinics giving required technical support to the IMC field-based staff, HF staff, and community volunteers.
  • Verify the accuracy and consistency of the data collected from various field sites for all activities.
  • Collect/compile the health and nutrition data as morbidities, mortalities, referral, maternal and child health (MCH), community health activities, and nutrition activities and submit it in a timely manner to the medical coordinator for his or her review before submitting it to the M&E Unit.
  • Ensure that analyzed key health data such as on morbidities, mortality and MCH is updated and displayed in all IMC supported health facilities and in IMC offices based on the agreed formats
  • Safely keep soft and hard copies of records of all health and nutrition information for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual data.
  • Closely monitor the health and nutrition data reporting procedure and immediately report any irregularities to the medical coordinator and MEAL Coordinator/Sr. MEAL Officer.
  • In consultation with the medical and MEAL Coordinator/Sr. MEAL Officer, make sure that the data needs for SMOH are identified and developed to be submitted. 
  • Manage and update the IMC site data base; share important information related to the HIS databases with all relevant staff as required.
  • Provide on job training and support to clinics and local partners NNGO on how to correctly use data collection forms.
  • Provide guidance to clinics and local NNGO on reporting and data quality (field’s data quality checks)
  • Conduct time to time visits to the clinics, local NNGO and targeted community to ensure the validity and the general quality of reports and data
  • Encourage positive communication and collaboration among agencies
  • Maintain and make available to field sites all data collection tools/formats and ensure that all clinics utilize uniform forms for data collection in a consistent manner.
  • Data entry to the IMC databases and Compile all program data & send to MEAL Coordinator / Sr. MEAL Officer on monthly bases
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual data analysis with the program team at the site level.
  • Receiving and reviewing weekly data from the clinics and monthly reports from local partners
  • Ensure timely data entry of all project data from Local Partners and other program implementers
  • Maintain data backup and archival procedures.
  • Assist in assessment and surveys as requested by the site team
  • Participate in all issues related to MEAL, and data management as directed by supervisors
  • Ensuring accountability through supporting the site team (Medical Coordinator and project/nutrition/wash officers) to ensure the health facility staff, local partner NNGO and community volunteers have a clear understanding of promoting and encouraging beneficiaries to make confidential suggestions and complaints on services provided. 
  • Ensure that all data collected via the Communities feedback mechanisms have been reported to the M&E Coordinator / Sr. MEAL Officer on time.
  • Support site team and committees in monitoring and documentation of community (beneficiary) complaints received and response (follow-up) as instructed by the supervisors.
  • Ensuring that all clinics, partner NGOs, and other implementation points have and are using the feedback Mechanisms through routine supportive supervision visits
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries se
  • Implement any task and duty requested by his direct/ indirect supervisor

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Typically, Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Social sciences, information Management system. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Typically [Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in the field of MEAL / Program Management.
