To work with the head of Risk Management on fraud cases management and follow-up on fraud investigations quality and timely completion. Ensure corrective actions implementation and monitoring of due dates and follow-up on the FRA (Fraud Risk Assessment) corrective actions implementation. 

SCOPE OF ROLE: 

Reports to:  Manager Risk and Compliance

Dimensions: Save the Children works in 15 out of 18 states in Sudan with a current staff complement of around 450. 

Staff directly reporting to this post: None. 

Fraud Management:  

  • Support the risk and compliance manager to ensure timely and quality investigations of suspected fraud cases and adequate reporting from Initial report to case closure. This includes supporting fraud investigation teams and ensuring the quality of the work of fraud investigators. 
  • Support the Risk and compliance manager ensure all fraud cases are closed within 90 days and all evidence are gathered and documented
  • Ensure all corrective actions arising from fraud investigations are communicated to relevant stakeholders and a tracker is updated. Overdue actions are escalated to the Head of Risk, compliance and counter fraud and Risk and compliance manager on time. 
  • share monthly tracker of open fraud cases status
  • share monthly corrective action tracker with the Head of Risk Management and Risk and compliance manager
  • Use trend analysis and share information on types of fraud occurring in the CO and breakdown by field offices to the Head of Risk Management and Risk and compliance manager.  
  • Preparation of targeted awareness session based on fraud report trends in the CO
  • Support implementation of the annual fraud prevention plan
  • Work as a team to accomplish the Risk Management and counter fraud department’s objectives.
  • At ESMT meetings, communicate /present statistics on incidents reported into DATIX shared with a message on compliance improvement on lessons learnt post investigations. On a quarterly basis 
  • Attend accountability meeting and escalate to Head of Risk Management and Risk and compliance manager any fraud risks highlighted in accountability reports. 
  • Preparation and delivery of targeted awareness session based on fraud report trends in CO

Risk Management: 

  • Follow-up on risk mitigations with different risk owners, maintain an updated tracker for all risk, fraud and audit findings
  • Provide technical support to field risk committees and ensure there is an updated risk register for field level
  • Work closely with BD team and provide quality PART tools as need arises
  • Attend kick-off meetings and walkthrough to PART to project implementation SCI and partner teams
  • Follow-up on updates of project level PART to ensure that risk registers are updated throughout the project cycle. 
  • Monitor different Key risk indicators to provide quantitative assessment to risks on quarterly basis

Compliance Management

  • Support the team in any compliance work required while executing different assurance providing activities, risk assessments, fraud assessments and compliance reviews. 
  • Build and maintain compliance digital library for internal policies and work instructions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree in Management, accounting Finance or any other relevant sectors.
Experience of working in the corporate, humanitarian or development sector at similar level
minimum of 3 years working in Fraud management, Risk Management, internal audit or compliance or any relevant department
Experience of working in large diverse teams with colleagues from many cultures backgrounds
Exceptional communication and organisational skills, and highly competent in developing and implementing systems, business processes and procedures
Highly competent in Microsoft office software
Exceptional coordination skills
Fluent written and spoken English
Very confident in dealing with large groups of people and with senior level visitors and partners
