The Hygiene promoter supervisor will support the Relief International Country Operation, in coordination with the Government, to assess needs and coordinate the provision of WASH services to beneficiaries of concern to RI this will include WASH activity follow up and monitoring progress of WASH programme implementation to ensure that an adequate level of WASH service is provided at each site in accordance with the Relief International WASH Manual and Technical Guidelines, and applicable RI Standards and/or National Standards. He or She will be responsible to follow up monitoring WASH activity that being implementing in field level in basically in ZZ and remotely will cover Sayah, Al-Malha and ElFasher rural area and monitoring water quality at health and nutrition facility, beside sending hygiene and sanitation practices messages in order to strength community awareness in hygiene promotion
Responsibilities;
Under the supervision of the Sn.WASH Officer/ PM, the Hygiene Promotion Officer supervises, at technical level, the work done by the Hygiene Promotion (HP) team in order to ensure the pertinence and quality of the activities. S/he trains, coaches and mentors the team. S/he develops hygiene promotion and social mobilization campaigns and methodologies. S/he represents RI in HP coordination meetings and technical working groups. He will also cover the work of the WASH officer in his absence.
Duties and responsibilities:
Objective 1: Supervision at technical level the Hygiene Promotion activities done by the Hygiene Promotion team
Supervise at technical level the work done by the HP team in order to ensure the quality and pertinence of the activities -Train, coach and mentor the HP Field Officers
Objective 2: Develop HP and Social mobilization tools, methodologies and strategies
Develop HP and community mobilization tools, methodologies and strategies adapted to the situation in the IDP gathering locations, host communities and health/nutrition facilities in the geographical area of intervention – Participate in the implementation of hygiene campaigns using the tools and methodologies developed.
Objective 3: Coordination and representation
Represent RI in the HP coordination meetings and technical working groups
Objective 4: Reporting
Report on the quantity, quality and relevance of the HP activities to WASH officer, the Head of Projects and the WASH coordinator -Report potential problems or conflicts during the implementation of activities – Regularly report verbally to WASH officer and the WASH coordinator as necessary.
Objective 5: Support to RI goals
Support emergency interventions, as per the employee’s capacities – Support any activity that helps achieving Relief International humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s capacities – Promote gender equality within the humanity.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Degree in public health or related fields
At least 3 years of experience in public health promotion field
Team management experience (preferred)
Strong communication skills
Experience in hygiene/health promotion and social mobilization
Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skills and diplomacy
Good organizational skills, proactivity and ability to work autonomously
Flexibility and adaptability
Very good reporting skills
Ability to work with children and vulnerable people
Gender Sensitive
Fluent in Arabic and excellent English
Computer skills: Microsoft Office, especially Excel
